On Saturday night I attended the official opening of the En Pointe Dance Centre and what a lovely evening it was. When I entered the building I saw for the first time a magnificent work of art by Mr David Linton which you can see pictured here. David created the En Pointe feature wall made from gorgeous timber. He also made the reception desk which features timber where the wood grain resembles pairs of pointe shoes. David’s daughter Jessica attends En Pointe, clearly creativity runs in the family. Everything about En Pointe is high quality and no expense has been spared by the owners Leticia and Martin Webb. Their hearts and souls have been put into the design and building of this unique facility. En Pointe is certainly an asset for the Sunshine Coast offering a specialised teaching facility to students of excellence studying dance.
The Hon Peter Slipper MP was on hand to officiate proceedings and though he was a little disappointed he would not be attending En Pointe himself he was thrilled the Sunshine Coast would now have such a wonderful facility. In good spirit he delightedly posed with the class of 2010.
Oh and did I mention I am proudly on the faculty at En Pointe!
