Beautiful Bli Bli, on the Sunshine Coast, provides the backdrop for our current Wednesday painting get togethers.
Since graduating with our Diplomas in Fine Art, Karen Magao, Lyn Donald, Erica Evans, Leigh Hooker, Chris Bell and I get together to paint.
Watch this space for news of future success from this groups of talented emerging artists.
With such a gorgeous and inspiring landscape who wouldn't want to be an artist here? Even on a grey day - it's magnificent!
Welcome
Miss Penny's Arty Stuff is a blog for artists. I aim to promote the many genres of the arts and share stories of interest and relevancy with an artistic community.

Bree's Painting
The first painting I did entitled 'Bree's Shoes' was given as a gift to my friend Leticia who is the owner of En Pointe.
Bree's mum Danielle asked if I could do another painting of her daughter's shoes for their home. So, it was my pleasure to do a new version of this subject. It's a little different, it has a different background, featuring the texture of tulle (the fabric of the ballerina's tutu) and as is always the case with original artwork, it has found it's own way to be... well... original.
Bree loves it and so does her mum.
Here is Bree in the photo - isn't she lovely?

Trashion Dress & Beads
This dress is crocheted from recycled supermarket bags!
Yes, entirely! The beads are made from an old novel.
I told you I was into recycling - did you read my profile?
An artist never wastes! That's why my studio (at times) looks a little bit like a 'tip'. It's all good stuff, I promise I'll make something out of all of it - One day!

Under the Sea Lamp
I'm trying out a new fusion of techniques to make homewares such as the lamp you see here.
Using paper fused with cloth and incorporating fibres, inks, wool, and any other interesting textured material I feel inspired to use, I can create a beautiful translucent fabric that is strong enough to use for a lampshade.
Original and unique - no two could ever turn out the same. I would love to hear your comments on this one.

I do love Mondays!
Though I officially 'work' at En Pointe Classical Coaching - it really should be referred to as 'fun'. Ridiculously, outrageous, inspiring fun. Working with adorable, delightful inspiring people.
If only more people could jump out of bed on Monday mornings and say "See you honey, I'm now leaving to go to... fun". Do you think it could catch on?
I guess I'm just spoilt, and lucky beyond words..... oh the arts - I love you :) xxxxx

What a way to spend a Sunday Morning!
Wow! what a bounty I found today!
I went to the Sunshine Coast Stamp Fair!
Yes, me - now I'm a nerd aren't I?..... I can hear you laughing! Stop! I got this super, dooper collection of old post cards that you are going to adore once they are collaged into my art works.
I even got to meet one of the one time owners of these beauties. You can almost smell the moth balls.... adorable.

Hugo "The Boss" returns to Soccer!
As wonder mum I can watch the soccer and be creative too! Yeah right you say - but I've had considerable practice - Rhys was a long time soccer boy. I'm gathering a group of little sisters who I'm teaching to crochet on the side lines - how sweet is that - I'll always be a teacher - can't help myself - I'm like the pied piper always gathering children!
I can crochet granny squares without looking - are you impressed? Can't be missing any goals now!
This year I'm doing waffle squares - can't wait to see how they will turn out when sewn together. My 2010 colour scheme is blue and green.
